Self-Catering with Style
Herlihy’s Bar, which ceased trading as a licensed-premises in 2017, has been reimagined as “Where Quirky Meets Traditional” the ideal base for a truly unique holiday experience.
The self-catering wheelchair friendly self-catering accommodation is suitable for two-four people. Now, the Bar Counter is home to a bespoke fitted kitchen, and the Bar-Floor area has been transformed into living/dining space. This area contains up-cycled bar furniture to provide a quirky dining space.
The cosy living area features:
- a fireplace
- sofa
- television
- coffee tables
- dresser etc.
The entire ‘Pub’ is decorated with bar memorabilia and up-cycled furniture. In contrast with the Traditional Bar Ambiance, the remainder of the unit is ultramodern and encompasses, an entrance hallway, a double bedroom, bathroom and utilty-room.
The luxury accommodation is equipped with every facility, which a guest might require. Private secure free car parking and free Wi-Fi are provided. The entire ground floor unit is wheelchair accessible.

We have stayed with Marie on a number of occasions. We love the apartment which is fully equipped with a really comfortable bed , high quality bedding and towels and great shower. The kitchen and lounge has everything you will need for a really comfortable stay whilst retaining all the original features of its rich heritage. Marie is a wonderful host , very kind welcoming and attentive to all your needs .It’s a top class place to stay whilst visiting the beautiful county of Kerry . We look forward to returning next year. Located in a stunning part of the world even when weather is dull. But when the sun is out, Kerry is astounding. The guest house is ideally situated close to an airport and road quality in Kerry is excellent for driving to all the beauty spots. Marie is a very welcoming and courteous host. As she is also a local tour guide, she offered excellent advice and suggestions on where and how to get to scenic landmarks; some of which were not so obvious. The history and atmosphere of Herlihy’s bar is tangible even though it’s been converted to an excellent holiday apartment. It’s a perfect base for the wonderful experience of exploring Kerry.
