Herlihy’s, Half Way House

The Curtain Came down on the End of an Era in January 2017, but Marie was not prepared to let the business die. As a professional archaeologist, she is deeply committed to preserving all that is traditionally Irish, including the façade at Herlihy’s.

This ambition and an attachment to the bar counter, led to her new venture. A keen interest in interior design and steely determination to keep the “ethos and tradition” of Herlihy’s alive, led to the accommodation being listed tenth in the Irish independent ‘Ireland’s 50 Best Places to Stay in 2020’.

Should guests wish to avail of the additional services on offer they will be afforded the opportunity to learn about Ireland, through the story of its history, people and places. Furthermore, a sustainable holiday experience is guaranteed as all household/garden waste is composted and all glass, aluminium, paper et cetera is recycled.
